  • For residential STPs: 1 kg per 100,000 liters of sewage 
  • For industrial STPs: 2–3 kg per 100,000 liters, depending on the organic load 

Mix the bio culture in non-chlorinated water and allow it to activate for at least 30 minutes (up to 1–2 hours) before dosing, to ensure optimal microbial activity. 

Maintenance Dosage (Daily or Weekly) 

  • Residential: 200–300 grams per 100,000 liters/day 
  • Industrial: Adjusted based on effluent quality and load fluctuation 

Proper dosing ensures the microbial colonies stay active and effective, especially during fluctuations in input load or temperature changes. 

Application Process: Step-by-Step Guide 

Applying bio culture correctly is just as important as choosing the right product. Follow these steps for best results: 

Step 1: System Check 

Ensure your STP is operational, with aeration and flow control systems functioning properly. Bio cultures thrive in well-oxygenated environments, so this step is crucial. 

Step 2: Pre-Mixing 

Mix the required quantity of bioculture for STP in lukewarm, non-chlorinated water (preferably 35–40°C). Stir and allow the mixture to sit for at least 30 minutes. This pre-activation enhances microbial activity. 

Step 3: Dosing 

Introduce the pre-mixed solution into the aeration tank or equalization tank. For better dispersion, distribute it across multiple points if the tank is large. 

Step 4: Monitoring 

Observe parameters such as BOD, COD, pH, and odor after a few days of application. This helps determine whether adjustments in dosage or frequency are required. 

Step 5: Maintenance 

Continue regular maintenance dosing to keep microbial populations stable. It’s also wise to avoid disinfectants like bleach in drains connected to STPs, as these chemicals can kill beneficial microbes.
